Requirements:
  • You need to have something or some information which you have to offer people locally, nationally and/or globally.
  • You need an email address that is yours and you have access to.
  • You need access to an Internet browser and a connection to the Internet.
  • Mostly importantly; you need a sense of good will, forever.

Fees:

  • The InterPost : Manchester is free to use.
  • The InterPost : Manchester will be developed in a way that is free to use.
  • Fee based features may be introduced in future to help keep The InterPost : Manchester alive.

Registration:

  • You do not need to register to use The InterPost : Manchester.
  • Features that make use of  a registration may be introduced in future.

Types of Posts:

  • The current types of Posts are; Blog Articles, Events, For Sale, Jobs/Contracts, News/Releases, Photos/Graphics, Questions, Places, Products, Reference Articles, Reviews, Services, Wanted, and we may update or add to these in future.

Marketing Posts:

  • Posts can be categorised.

Advertising to people:

  • You can maintain a presence by Posting an advert. An advert does not have to sell a service or inform people. An advert can simply remind people that you are still there for them. Read on to find out about Posting different types of things...

Posting an Event:

  • You can advertise an Event with the start date & time and the end date & time and any other details about the event. Event Posts expire after the end date & time.

Posting a Job/Contract?

  • You can Post employment details for a Job or Contract with details about whether it's full-time, part time, permanent, temporary, a contract, an odd job/etc and enter details about the Job.

Identifiable locations within the country:

  • The InterPost : Manchester will be developed to so that you can select sub-divisions within the country. However, if you consider all the permutations, it may take a long time to do this. Therefore, if you cannot select a location within the country that you think is appropriate for your Post then you can enter an identifiable location that you think more accurately specifies a location within a country.

Making your Post live:

  • When you have entered the details of your Post and are happy with them you can publish the Post.
  • Before a Post is made live, it needs to be activated by clicking or going to the link sent to the email address that you provide when you enter the details of your Post.
  • Once you have activated your Post it becomes live immediately on The InterPost : Manchester.

Including an image to support your Post:

  • There are 2 ways you can include an image:

    Use the URL (web address) of an image.
  • When you enter the details of your Post, you can enter the URL of an image (GIF or JPEG) which will be displayed on your Post and also on browse and search listings which include your Post. This feature is optional.
  • You can get the URL of an image by right clicking on an image on a web page and clicking on 'Properties'. The URL will appear in a section called 'Address' and/or 'URL'. Make sure that you copy the whole of the URL as the whole URL may not be immediately visible. We advise that you position your cursor before the 'http://' characters, hold your mouse button down and then move your your mouse down and to the left until the whole of the URL is displayed. Then let go of your mouse button, and right click on the highlighted URL and click on 'Copy' on the menu that appears or press 'CTRL' and 'C' on your keyboard to copy the URL to the clipboard. Then simply paste it into the image URL field of the Post form.

    Upload an image
  • When you enter the details of your Post, you can upload an image (GIF or JPEG) from your computer or network. Simply click on the 'Browse' button on the Post form, Locate the image on your computer or network (the image must be less than 200K / 204800 bytes). Once you have located the image, click on 'Open' and that's about it. When you submit your Post there may be a slight delay while the image uploads.
     
  • Images are displayed on listings at a maximum size of 80 pixels wide and 80 pixels high.
  • Images are displayed on your Post at a maximum size of 350 pixels wide and 350 pixels high. Images on Photo/Graphic Posts are displayed at a maximum size of 480 pixels wide and 480 pixels high.

NEW: Get an exclusive page for your Post and remove the other adverts from the Post.

  • When you enter the details of your Post you can choose to make to not diplay other Adverts on it for a small fee which will also give you a highlighted listing (see below).
  • Only your Post details will appear on your Post page when it is published and no other Adverts will appear on it for the whole duration of your Post.
  • Once you have chosen this option for your Post, it is put on hold until you make a payment for these features. You can make a secure payment using your credit/debit card or PayPal funds and there is no need to register or incur any fees.
  • Please note that once you have chosen this option and after your Post has been published you will not be able to change the duration of the Post. Therefore select the maximum appropriate duration for what you are Posting.

NEW: Highlighting your Post.

  • When you enter the details of your Post you can choose to highlight it for a small fee, and your Post will also be "Advert Free" (see above).
  • Your Post will be Highlighted in yellow when it appears in browse and search listings (normal listings appear in white).
  • The highlight will appear for the whole duration of your Post.
  • Once you have chosen this option for your Post, it is put on hold until you make a payment for these features. You can make a secure payment using your credit/debit card or PayPal funds and there is no need to register or incur any fees.
  • Please note that once you have chosen this option and after your Post has been published you will not be able to change the duration of the Post. Therefore select the maximum appropriate duration for what you are Posting.

Getting your Post on search engines:

  • The InterPost : Manchester has been created with an attempt to automatically get your Post on search engines without you having to do anything.
  • You can submit your individual Post to search engines and other directory sites by using the link (URL) to Post.

Receiving emails and email privacy.

  • When someone wants to contact you about your Post by email they will need to fill out a contact form with their message and email address.
  • Your email address will not be displayed to the sender.
  • The email message that you receive will contain the message and the email address provided by the sender.
  • You can send a reply email to the message and the sender will receive your reply and your email address.
  • If you do not want to disclose your email addresses when replying to a message then use an alternative contact method that the sender may have provided.
  • If no alternative contact method has been provided, then currently your only option is to send a reply message which will disclose your email address.
  • The InterPost : Manchester will be developed so that you can send emails without ever disclosing your email address.

Alternative Contact Methods for Posts: • Within the details of your Post you can specifiy other contact methods such as landline, facsimile and mobile telephone numbers and even postal addresses. The choice is yours.
